Just 14km from the centre of the capital of Navarre, the Palacio de Olza benefits from an ideal location, well-connected but in a peaceful and secluded spot. You can use it as a base for visiting Navarre, La Rioja or the Basque Country. Or you can just stay in it, rest and disconnect from the stress of everyday life, interspersed with walks in the nearby woods.
The woods and hills of Olza, as well as its nearby villages, offer good opportunities for walks of half an hour up to three or four hours. Here we suggest several simple walks that can be done from the Palacio de Olza:
Olza and its surroundings are accessible on foot or bike along paths between fields or in the mountains. A little further away you will find the SeñorÃo de Zuasti golf course, and the Plazaola Greenway (VÃa Verde). There is also the Sierra de Aralar with its mountain walks, or Pamplona, with all of its variety of sports and activities.
The cultural wealth of Navarre includes its cuisine. From the Cendea de Olza you can visit some unique restaurants or sidrerÃas (traditional cider houses), the Bodega Otazu winery for tastings and tours, or Pamplona city centre to taste the traditional pinchos.
Not only will you enjoy a 15th century palace, but you will also have within reach the cultural heritage of Pamplona, the original European cultural route that is the Camino de Santiago, monuments such as San Miguel de Aralar, and unique locations such as Mendukilo Cave.
